Sie’s Monthly Musings
Exhaustion is a funny thing. Here’s how it’s currently manifesting for me:
I’m fighting sleep - much like my 9 month old, I find myself resistant to nap / go to bed early despite obviously being very tired. Instead, I stay up late and “power through” stupid stuff (like watching Suits or planning vacations for summer 2025) because I’m determined to maximize my day.
I’m in a semi-unwarranted state malcontent and hyper-focusing on really silly things: Finding an entirely new look— wardrobe, hair, all the things; Painting our bathroom; Making a variety of galettes; Planning and replanning updates to our basement that we probably can’t even afford.
Engaging with other humans feels so daunting - My texting habits have never been great, but yeeesh they’re really taking a nose dive now 😬.
Now that I’ve said all of these things out loud (and simultaneously generated some fodder for my next therapy session) let’s move on to soup news!
NEW NEWS
⭐️ General update# 1: We’re gonna go semi-dark in preparation for fall ⭐️
Our #1 focus is ensuring we’re approved to truly start selling at farmer’s markets and in our favorite stores this fall. In the interest of balancing focus with much needed rest and relaxation please note the below.
Monthly newsletter - on hold til soup season!
Free Test Batches - will likely be on a less frequent cadence but we will continue to post on instagram when we’ve got new recipes to sample.
⭐️ Business-y update #2: We’re (kind of) a real company now ⭐️
During our April newsletter I shared a desire to use the OKR framework to help get our act together. If curious, here’s where we’re at with our objectives!
⭐️ VERY EXCITING UPDATE #3: We’re soft-launching pre-orders!
Over the last many months so many people have asked “When are you going to start selling?” While this inquiry is extremely flattering, I tend to get flustered and not know what to say because the choice is mired in complexity. After doing a bit of problem solving (nudged forward by Objectives #1 & 2) we’ve decided to take the opportunity to soft launch pre-ordering soups. Below is the tentative plan!
How to order: Visit our site goodsoupshop.com to see what’s available!
First up is corn bone and dumplings soup available for pick up next Sunday 6/23.
Where to pick up: at least for this first pre-order, our sweet buds at Little Pep (533 Trade St NW, Winston-Salem, NC 27101) have graciously offered to be your destination 🥰.
If you haven't been to Little Pep yet, it’s wonderful—highly recommend making an activity out of your pick-up trip! Plus there’s a loading zone street parking if you just want to pop in in out.
How will you know when there’s more soup to buy: Although monthly newsletter content is going dark, we’ll still send a 🚨 Soup Alert email via Substack and post on IG stories. Frankly we’re not sure what soup demand will be in the middle of summer so we’ll see how this goes 🙃. If yall keep buying, we’ll keep making!
Thank you all for supporting our small, budding business 🙏🏾. Hope summer treats you well!
Xx,
Sie
